As I posted a few weeks ago I have signed up for classes (called RCIA) at our church to be a candidate to become Catholic. I also want to mention that my brother, Ryan and cousin, Jared are also going through RCIA this year in their respective parishes in KC! I have been enjoying the classes each Tuesday evening. There are at least four others that also have twins. Most are older (13, 7 & 2) and same sex, but there is a set of boy/girl twins that are 4 months old. There is a person who just moved here from KC a few weeks ago. She and her fiance lived on the MO side and she had on an MU sweatshirt (it's very cold in the church - cause it's still 90 outside), but they are Chiefs fans!
Not a surprise, but I found out I will have to get an annulment (yes, I was married before & today would have been 15 yr anniversary) and it can be a long process. They are telling me six months to a year. Main reason - there are so many other cases in the DFW area. The reason for annulments (for you non-Catholics) is so my marriage to Pat can be recognized by the church as that is one of the sacraments (like baptism, communion, etc.). I am unclear on all the steps, etc. - learn more each week, but I think they will have a little ceremony to acknowledge our marriage. However, the bad news is - if the annulment does not come through before Easter (Mar. 23rd) I can not be accepted into the church during the regularly scheduled ceremony. I believe they will do something once it does come through - again still learning all the details.
Those of you who are Catholic have questioned why our classes go through May when the acceptance is at Easter - well, you'd have to ask Father Timothy to get the real reason, but they call it Mystagogia and my understanding is that is when we learn more of the Catholic side of faith - right now it's all about faith, prayer, relating and eventually the sacraments in more detail. I still may have some of this wrong....but, you get the jist.
So much more to post - check back soon. Kelly, thinking of you and your family today.

I started Mother's Circle last night at our church and our opening prayer was wonderful...I wanted to share it with you...
The Beautiful Gift of Motherhood
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for the beautiful gift of motherhood, one of the greatest gifts ever. At times, I feel unworthy of this awesome task of raising Christian Children.
Other times, I may be so busy with their care, I even forget the great privlege that motherhood really is. Please enlighten my mind and sense and help me to renew my resolve in being the mother I am destined to be.
Love you, Jen
Sorry you hit a little "bump" with your RCIA program - hang in there!
