His team had a bye week last weekend, but today they were back on the field after two practices in the coaches big back yard and it was MUCH better!
We have been talking about it a lot and he was not excited about the "other" team or a "game". He was doing great at practice and was fine with going to or having more practice, but not going to a game.
But, today we went and he took his buddy Jackson's hand and they walked off together with the coach. She put them both on the field as starters (I had told him he did not have to start, but he had to play at some point) and he did AWESOME! He kicked off the second time and went from there. He was always where the ball was, he knew to stand in front of the net to help stop them from scoring, he backed off when another one of his teammates were kicking the ball and he even SCORED A GOAL!
Not sure if he own cheering crowd helped, but thanks to Kristen, Dylan, Stephanie and Lita for coming to watch. He looked up at us a lot and smiled when he saw us all cheering. He gave me a thumbs up many times! Hadley was a wonderful patient sister watching and she gave him a hug and told him he was awesome after the game!
I did not take my camera, because I was not sure what would happen. Guess I better take next week to catch him in action! Today we saw the boy we know and love having a great time!
