First HOA Block Party

It was a hot hot June Saturday in Texas on the 13th, but we had a pretty good turn out for our first big block party.

The check in table was at the end of our driveway, but it got moved into the middle to be in the shade.

We had hamburgers and hot dogs from Sonic and Veggie Sandwiches from Subway. As you can see tables, chairs and tents were set up out in the street (yet many many people stay in our yard and driveway as we had some shade).


There were many activities for the kids - water guns, tattoos, jump ropes, bubbles and side walk chalk. I ran inside to grab my camera when the bike parade was about half over.

We were very surprised by the great participation in the bike parade. Being our first you just never know how these things are going to be.

Every participate received a ribbon.




Bringing up the tail end of the parade were our little ones. Here is Gabriel, Shawn, Sean and Hadley.






Here they are getting their ribbons and after that we passed out Popsicles.

Most of the Social Committee stayed and hung out in our drive way and eventually we moved to the back yard for some water volleyball.

It was a successful event and a good time was had by all.
