Grandma's Surprise

My Mom retired in August and we kids did not get together to 'plan' anything. So, at the last minute we were ordering flowers, etc. when Pat said 'I am going to be out of town why don't you and the kids just drive up and surprise her?'

So we did and we stopped at Dad & Ona's on the way up. Poppy brought home the golf cart so they could go for a few rides!

They each needed their riding hats! Only Hadley had to borrow one from Poppy.

Then we went to the fair! I think I have a picture or two somewhere so more on that later.

Back to the surprise.

When we got to KC we picked up Regan & Gentry (who she once found out we were coming flew in to surprise Mom as well).

We then went to Mom's office to meet Ryan and Dave for the actual surprise.

Her office was in on it. I had called and made arrangements.



So when we arrived they told her there was a client who wanted to tell her good bye. Instead she was ushered into a room full of her kids and grand kids (the other four were at school).


Needless to say - we got her good!

However, she saw Sean & Hadley and over looked Gentry for several minutes. So, she was surprised again!




We then took her out for lunch with more family joining us (after she cleaned up her desk and packed up her box).


Later that day the kids took a nap with Papa back at their house!

We had a fun weekend! Congrats to Grandma and hope she is enjoying her retirement!
