We left on a family road trip on Friday morning at 7:42 am. Off to visit Grammy & Pop in PA. The trip was actually a pretty good one. We all survived.
We stopped for lunch at a rest stop in Arkansas, then at a McDonald's for dinner to play at the playland outside of Nashville, TN and then for the night at a Hampton Inn in Elizabethtown, KY. We didn't get cribs or take in the pack n' play, so Hadley slept with Daddy and Sean with Mommy. The plan was initially the opposite, but when it was time to lay down Sean was pulling at Mommy and Hadley was wanting her Daddy - how do you say no? After Hadley flopped all over and took her time going to sleep (while Daddy was tired and ready to go to sleep) and then hogged the bed all night - Daddy might wish he'd been with Sean.
We had breakfast at the hotel and we were back in the car and on the road by 8:30 am EST. We stopped for lunch at a rest stop in OH and made it to Grammy & Pop's by 4 pm. Boy, we were all ready to get OUT of the car!! But, as I said it wasn't a bad trip. I sat in the back between the kids quite a bit to pass out toys, books, sing, etc. There were a few naps, but not as many as were needed - so, we were exhausted and they to bed at 7:30 pm last night.
Peg and Nathan are here visiting also. So, today we went to church, out for brunch and are now sitting on the back porch enjoying the BEAUTIFUL 70 degree weather. In Texas we would be sweating like crazy! Some friends and family will by over soon for an afternoon visit.
